Who We Are

No Quarry on Homestead is a community-led organization formed to protect the Little River Valley in Southwest Allen County, Indiana from incompatible industrial development.

We are neighbors, parents, teachers, healthcare workers, farmers, and residents who believe that the Little River Valley deserves a future that honors its natural, community, and economic assets — not one that sacrifices them for 80–100 years of industrial extraction.

Our Mission

No Quarry on Homestead is a community-led effort to protect the Little River Valley from incompatible industrial development and to ensure that land-use decisions support the long-term health, safety, and prosperity of Southwest Allen County.

We believe in:

  • Transparent information — We cite only verified sources and publish our data openly
  • Responsible planning — Growth should strengthen communities, not endanger them
  • Community voice — Residents deserve meaningful participation in decisions that shape their future
  • Environmental stewardship — The valley’s wetlands, waterways, and natural systems have value that cannot be replaced

Our Story

No Quarry on Homestead formed when residents of Southwest Allen County learned of a proposed rezoning application to bring an open-pit limestone quarry, asphalt plant, and concrete batching plant to the Little River Valley.

We came together because we believe this is a decision that will shape the valley for generations — and that residents deserve to be heard.

Our Values

🏥 Health & Safety First

Hospitals, schools, and neighborhoods deserve clean air and safe water.

🌿 Protect the Wetlands

The Little River Valley is a critical floodplain and wildlife corridor that serves our entire region.

🏗️ Responsible Development

Growth should strengthen — not endanger — the community.

📋 Transparency & Accountability

Residents deserve clear information and honest planning processes.

🌱 A Better Future for SW Allen

The valley can be a regional asset — a place of natural beauty, ecological health, and community pride — not an industrial sacrifice zone.
